About The Role

What is the role?

As the  Business/Project Development Manager, you will work closely with the business development team working in partnership to support the development of current and future development projects.

You will lead on the pipeline development of heat, private wire, and hydrogen opportunities from project inception to financial close. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in wider business development activities, supporting future projects and development opportunities which will continue to grow the business.

A key part of this role is to form close liaisons between multiple internal and external stakeholders, to understand the strategic opportunities within the organization, and the engineering feasibility of the projects to identify and secure development opportunity and contracts. As Business/Project Development Manager you will need to manage, understand and communicate market information such as supply change pricing and the financial modelling impact of projects.

You will be securing and taking ownership of these opportunities creating development plans and projecting managing the end-to-end business development process

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identifying & securing new private wire & heat development contracts.
  • Identifying & securing new EfW electrolytic hydrogen opportunities
  • Dealing with the full project process – from pre-qualification/feasibility, governance & contract close.
  • Taking a client’s energy project needs & designing a full suite of solutions for the business to implement, deliver on their behalf - strengthening business relations.
  • Management of customers, partners and supply chain relationships.
  • Build relationships with key technical and all other relations including suppliers and TAs;
  • Monthly reporting to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Overseeing procurement and negotiation of contracts with service providers;
Qualifications and Experience
  • Business development experience
  • Engineering degree (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of infrastructure projects.
  • Strong proactive attitude, forward thinking with self-management and team coordination;
  • Commercial acumen with experience of closing contracts
  • Management of customers, partners and supply chain relationships
  • Experience of developing excellent proposals for complex projects with investments
  • Client management / experience in advising clients and investors;
  • Investor relations and risk management;
Competencies 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with one team approach.
  • Understanding of engineering principles of the Energy from waste and Decarbonisation
  • Industrial site or district heating scheme knowledge and knowledge of district engineering and industrial energy solutions.
  • Engineering degree to support understanding and looking at projects and selling to the customer around solutions needed for the roles.
