About The Role

Are you passionate about driving environmental excellence and compliance in a fast-paced, impactful industry? Join enfinium, one of the UK's leading waste-to-energy companies, as our new Environmental Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring sustainability at our state-of-the-art facility Parc Adfer in Deeside

What will you do?

In this key position, you’ll work closely with the Plant Manager and our dynamic SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) team to oversee all aspects of the site’s environmental compliance. You'll also provide expert advice and guidance to the onsite team while building relationships with third parties, including local councils and the Environment Agency.

This is your chance to make a meaningful impact by shaping our environmental practices and ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Environmental Management System, including conducting audits, developing policies, and maintaining key documentation.
  • Overseeing the environmental monitoring programme, ensuring all regulatory and management reports are prepared and delivered on time.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reports for the SHEQ Senior Management team.
  • Ensuring compliance with permit specifications, including biodiversity management plans.
  • Managing routine regulatory monitoring, such as ESA protocols, CEMS, and water discharge compliance.
  • Collaborating with contractors and operations staff to optimise boiler water and steam chemistry for performance.
  • Analysing emissions data to identify trends and pre-empt potential issues.
  • Conducting inspections and audits to maintain adherence to statutory obligations

What you’ll bring

  • Ideally a BSc (or equivalent) in an Environmental subject, or substantial experience in a regulatory or supervisory role.
  • Degree-level qualification in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of boiler water chemistry and treatment regimes (desirable).
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

About Us

As one of the UK’s leading energy from waste operators, enfinium is supporting our country’s journey to a Net Zero economy. We do this by operating and developing six decarbonisation hubs around the UK, where we use waste that would otherwise go to landfill to generate homegrown energy.

Today, enfinium has an annual waste processing capacity of over 2.3 million tonnes, and a total combined electric generating capacity of 265MW (gross) - enough energy to power more than 500,000 UK homes. enfinium is owned by infrastructure investment funds managed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners
