💡 Make a difference today to deliver a cleaner tomorrow
Kickstart your engineering career with one of the UK’s leading energy-from-waste businesses.
At enfinium, we don’t just keep waste out of landfill — we power homes, protect the planet, and provide incredible career opportunities for people like you. With 4 strategically located facilities (and two more on the way), we transform non-recyclable waste into low-carbon electricity and heat for communities across the UK.
Now, we’re looking for the next generation of talent to join us through our Process Technician Apprenticeship at Ferrybridge. If you’re ready to work hard, learn from the best, and be part of a team that’s shaping the future of energy, we want to hear from you.
🔧 What you'll be doing:
As a Process Technician Apprentice, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of a cutting-edge energy-from-waste facility. You’ll learn how to:
-
Operate boilers, turbines, and other plant equipment safely and efficiently
-
Support start-ups, shutdowns, and emergency operations
-
Record and analyse plant performance
-
Investigate operational issues and assist with root cause analysis
-
Work with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve faults and raise work requests
-
Monitor material stocks and handle deliveries and waste collections
This is a hands-on, practical role with real responsibility from day one — and it only grows as you do.
📚We are excited to launch this apprenticeship through our partners Coleg Cambria and will happily accept applications from those with and without a NVQ Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations 7682 (POE)
By the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll be a fully qualified Technician — with opportunities to grow your career across the enfinium group.
⚡ About you:
This role is ideal for someone who is:
-
Curious about how things work
-
Hands-on and not afraid to get stuck in
-
Safety-conscious and team-oriented
-
Ambitious to build a long-term career in engineering
You’ll also need to be comfortable working at heights, in noisy or warm environments, and around rotating machinery — but don’t worry, you’ll be fully trained and supported throughout.
