About The Role

What you will be doing

The majority of enfinium’s fleet is merchant so the primary responsibility of the Contracting and Bid Manager will be for negotiating and closing multi-year Fuel Supply Agreements with commercial waste suppliers.

As Contracting and Bid Manager you will be responsible for coordinating and managing Local Authority Residual Waste Treatment and Disposal tenders, working with the Geographic Market Managers and the Head of Fuel to identify, track, influence and engage targeted Authorities to develop a full understanding of their needs and from this to build a compelling bid solution. You will also be expected to build and coordinate cross functional bid teams and lead the bid process through the active bid stages.

What you will bring

Fuel Contracting: to negotiate and close contracts in a timely and efficient manner to ensure sufficient fuel is contracted in line with strategic objectives for the facilities to operate at optimum capacity at all times and to optimise plant profitability in line with budget, Business Plan and other corporate objectives

Local Authority Bidding: to increase the company’s portfolio of municipal waste contracts

Market Intelligence and Market Review: to develop and maintain a high level of market knowledge to aid in both pricing and to develop sustainable short, medium and long-term Fuel Supply Plans to deliver company objectives and to provide a  national picture of enfinium’s markets
 

Desirable qualifications and experience 

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications and experience desirable to perform the role.

  • Demonstrable and appropriate experience within the waste management industry
  • Demonstrable and appropriate experience leading and closing contract negotiations, preferably in the waste sector
  • An understanding of Local Authority procurement processes; Local Authority bidding experience would be beneficial, but not essential
  • Understanding and experience garnered in waste business with operations, logistics, and a firm understanding of government, government procurement laws, and laws governing competition in the marketplace.
  • Experience of waste exports and imports beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of alternative non-hazardous waste markets beneficial but not essential
