Maintenance Planner – Driving Maintenance Excellence

Are you a  proactive maintenance planning who is eager to play a key role in keeping a facility running efficiently? As a Maintenance Planner, you'll be the linchpin for scheduling, coordinating, and ensuring the smooth execution of maintenance activities across the site. With a keen eye for detail and a focus on long-term efficiency, you will directly contribute to optimizing plant performance while minimizing downtime.

What You'll Be Doing

Here’s a glimpse of your key responsibilities:

  • Plan Preventive Maintenance: Operate and manage the facility’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are scheduled and tracked effectively.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Create and manage schedules for maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacements, ensuring work is executed without disruption.
  • Collaborate Across Departments: Publish detailed weekly/monthly work orders and communicate effectively with operations and maintenance teams. Attend daily planning meetings to align maintenance schedules with operational priorities.
  • Manage External Contractors: Oversee the work of external contractors and integrate their schedules into a comprehensive maintenance plan for seamless execution.
  • Optimize Maintenance Efficiency: Ensure minimal backlog of work orders, creating a smooth workflow that maximizes the efficiency of the maintenance team.
  • Master Scheduling: Develop and maintain a master schedule, anticipating potential conflicts and resolving them proactively to avoid operational issues.
  • Safety First: Create, assess, and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure that all work is carried out safely and according to regulations.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • CMMS Proficiency: Experience with a CMMS to track and optimize maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in industries like energy-from-waste, power generation, or similar industrial environments, where maintenance planning plays a critical role.
  • Strong Planning Skills: Extensive experience with Microsoft Projects or similar planning software to create detailed maintenance schedules.
  • Safety-Focused: A solid understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments, and method statements, with a commitment to safety in all planning activities.
