About The Role

enfinium is leading the way in sustainable energy, and we're excited to introduce Kelvin, our latest state-of-the-art Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility in West Bromwich. Set to be fully operational in 2026, Kelvin will process up to 395,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste annually, generating up to 44MW of electricity—enough to power 95,000 UK homes while reducing landfill reliance and supporting a circular economy.

As we prepare for operations, we're looking for Electrical, Control and Instrument Technicians to join our growing team and help shape the future of this cutting-edge site.

Why Join Us at Kelvin?

  • Brand-New Facility – Be part of the pioneering team establishing Kelvin’s operational excellence from day one.
  • Sustainable Energy – Help energy while diverting waste from landfill.
  • Advanced Technology – Work with modern EfW systems, including high-efficiency combustion, flue gas treatment, and energy recovery processes.
  • Community Impact – Play a role in boosting local energy resilience and supporting West Bromwich’s low-carbon ambitions.
About the role

As an EC&I Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) systems of the plant to ensure optimum performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting EC&I systems across the EfW facility.
  • Supporting the installation, commissioning, and testing of new EC&I equipment.
  • Monitoring and diagnosing plant performance, using SCADA and DCS systems to ensure the plant operates at maximum efficiency.
  • Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify issues before they arise.
  • Supporting plant shutdowns, ensuring that all EC&I systems are fully operational and safe.
  • Collaborating with the operations and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and improve plant performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and equipment performance.

Our Values

  • One Team – We collaborate and support each other to succeed.
  • Pride Matters – We take pride in what we do and deliver excellence.
  • Safety on Purpose – Safety is at the heart of everything we do.
  • Make a Positive Impact – We drive meaningful change for our environment and communities.

What We Are Looking For:

  • ONC/HNC in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an EC&I Technician in a heavy industrial or energy-from-waste environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of EC&I systems, PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and fault finding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

About Us

Be Part of Something Big

Kelvin isn’t just another energy from waste facility—it’s a milestone in sustainable energy for West Bromwich and the UK. Joining us now means shaping the future of the facility, working with cutting-edge EfW technology, and contributing to a cleaner, greener tomorrow.

enfinium is a leading UK energy-from-waste operator, transforming waste into reliable, sustainable energy. With six advanced decarbonisation hubs, we support the UK’s Net Zero goals by generating clean electricity from waste that would otherwise go to landfill.

We process over 2.3 million tonnes of waste annually, generating 265MW (gross) of electricity—enough to power more than 500,000 UK homes. Backed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners, Enfinium is committed to sustainable energy solutions.
