Tax Manager – London or Leeds
Make your mark. Shape the future. Drive impact.
Are you ready to build something from the ground up?
As enfinium continues to grow and evolve, we’re looking for our very first Tax Manager – a rare opportunity for someone who’s ready to take ownership, shape our tax strategy, and help embed processes that will support our business for years to come.
This is more than a technical role. It’s your chance to play a central part in our journey – working across major capital projects such as new plant investments, district heating schemes and carbon capture – and influencing how we grow sustainably and intelligently.
Who are we?
enfinium is a critical part of the UK’s waste and energy infrastructure. Every day, our facilities divert waste from landfill, generate renewable baseload power, and contribute to the UK’s drive toward net zero carbon emissions. And with investment and innovation driving our future, there’s never been a better time to join us.
What’s the role all about?
As Tax Manager, you’ll join our Group Finance team and report to the Group Reporting Manager. You’ll lead on tax compliance, support strategic planning, and help develop investment cases that shape the future of our business. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in Treasury, site finance, and across the wider group.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:
-
Own and lead the group’s tax compliance processes, ensuring we meet all obligations accurately and efficiently.
-
Advise on tax implications of major capital projects – including new facilities, carbon capture, and heat networks.
-
Partner with Treasury to assess tax deductibility of interest, hedging strategies, and group relief.
-
Manage relationships with tax advisors and HMRC, acting as our key point of contact.
-
Ensure robust internal controls and processes are in place to support SAO certification.
What we’re looking for:
-
ACA, CTA qualified with 3+ years post-qualification experience. Or equivalent
-
Background in corporate tax, ideally within a large, complex business or advisory role.
-
Strong understanding of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
-
Excellent communicator – able to explain complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
-
Organised, analytical and solutions-focused, with a natural drive to deliver.
-
Comfortable working independently but always collaborative in approach.
Why join us?
This is a rare opportunity to build a tax function from the ground up, in a business that is investing heavily in innovation, growth and sustainability. You'll have the freedom to make things happen – and the backing of a highly capable and ambitious finance team.
At enfinium, we value initiative, curiosity, and integrity. We work together, we get stuck in, and we deliver – for our people, for our partners, and for the planet.
