About The Role

Environmental Manager – Parc Adfer

Location: Deeside
Join us in shaping a cleaner, greener future.

Are you passionate about sustainability and environmental compliance? At enfinium, we’re on a mission to power homes and businesses with energy from waste, reducing landfill and driving the UK toward Net Zero. We’re looking for an Environmental Manager to take the lead at our state-of-the-art Parc Adfer facility.

What you’ll be doing

As our Environmental Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things environmental on site. Working closely with the Plant Manager and our wider SHEQ team, you’ll ensure we meet and exceed environmental standards, while guiding and supporting the onsite team. You’ll also represent enfinium externally, liaising with local councils and the Environment Agency to maintain strong partnerships.

Your role will include:

  • Managing and auditing our Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Delivering and reporting on environmental monitoring programmes in line with permit requirements.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual ESG and KPI reports for senior management.
  • Overseeing permit compliance, biodiversity plans, and regulatory monitoring routines.
  • Managing all environmental regulatory requirements for the Waste-to-Energy facility, including CEMS (Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems) compliance, QAL2/QAL3 calibration checks, AST procedures, extractive monitoring, and water discharge controls.
  • Reviewing emissions data daily to identify trends and potential plant performance issues.
  • Managing specialist contractors and supporting boiler water chemistry monitoring.
  • Conducting site inspections and audits to ensure statutory obligations are met.

What you’ll bring

  • Ideally a degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline, or significant experience in a regulatory/supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance and monitoring processes.
  • Excellent communication skills – you’ll be confident engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of boiler water chemistry and treatment regimes is desirable.

About Us

As one of the UK’s leading energy from waste operators, enfinium is supporting our country’s journey to a Net Zero economy. We do this by operating and developing six decarbonisation hubs around the UK, where we use waste that would otherwise go to landfill to generate homegrown energy.

Today, enfinium has an annual waste processing capacity of over 2.3 million tonnes, and a total combined electric generating capacity of 265MW (gross) - enough energy to power more than 500,000 UK homes. enfinium is owned by infrastructure investment funds managed by Igneo Infrastructure Partners
